Miss CamilleCamille Izard Morris trained in Nashville with Albertine Maxwell, in Paris with Madame Nora Kiss, and in New York on full scholarship at Harkness Ballet, with David Howard. She danced professionally with the Cologne Tanz Forum (Germany), the Maryland Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre. She successfully competed in the Third International Ballet Competition held at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Russia and won the Prize for Artistic Excellence. She holds an MFA  from New York University and is an American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher in  Pre-Primary through Level 7 & Partnering.

She has been recognized with Choreographic Fellowships from both the Ohio Arts Council and the Montgomery Arts and Cultural District. Her choreography is performed by the advanced students of Dayton Ballet School at the Dayton Ballet Workshop held annually each Spring.

Miss Camille began Oakwood Ballet in 1996 to focus on teaching young children the joy of dance. Since then she has been enthusiastically serving the families of Oakwood where she lives with her husband Terry; they have two grown daughters.

From 2014-2018, she was a teacher with Project Plie, an initiative of American Ballet Theatre  (NYC) to develop young dancers of diverse ethnic backgrounds. She continues her professional association with ABT as an Examiner, in all levels, of the National Training Curriculum.

Additionally, Miss Camille has been a long standing teacher at Dayton Ballet. Among the highlights of her time with DB was her  production of  “Art from Every Angle”, an interdisciplinary annual fundraising event for the Josephine Schwarz Dayton Dancer Fund. She also led DANCE POWER, an outreach program that served under-represented children, in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club. She currently teaches advanced ballet to pre-professional students, many of whom began with her at Oakwood Ballet.

Melanie Hope Danford, Oakwood Ballet accompanist, has had a long standing professional relationship with Miss Camille. She has accompanied Miss Camille at Oakwood Ballet as well as at Dayton Ballet School for multiple seasons. Melanie began accompanying students at Jon Rodriguez School of Ballet in the early 1980s and has worked additionally for Dayton Ballet Company, WSU and Sinclair Community College. She holds an MM in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from Southern Methodist University.
