Miss CamilleCamille Izard Morris trained in Nashville with Albertine Maxwell, in Paris with Madame Nora Kiss, and in New York on full scholarship at Harkness Ballet, with David Howard. She danced professionally with the Cologne Tanz Forum (Germany), the Maryland Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre (NYC). She successfully competed in the Third International Ballet Competition held at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Russia and won the Prize for Artistic Excellence. She holds an MFA  from New York University and is an American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in  Pre-Primary through Level 7 & Partnering.

She has been recognized with Choreographic Fellowships from both the Ohio Arts Council and the Montgomery Arts and Cultural District. Her choreography is performed by the advanced students of Dayton Ballet School at the Dayton Ballet Workshop held annually each Spring.

Miss Camille has been teaching at Dayton Ballet since 1987. During this time she produced “Art from Every Angle”, an interdisciplinary annual fundraising event for the Josephine Schwarz Dayton Dancer Fund. Additionally, she participated in DANCE POWER, an outreach program that served under-represented children, in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club. She currently teaches advanced ballet to pre-professional students, many of whom began with her at Oakwood Ballet.

Miss Camille began Oakwood Ballet in 1996 to focus on teaching young children the joy of dance. Since then she has been enthusiastically serving the families of Oakwood where she lives with husband Terry; they have two grown daughters. She continues her professional association with American Ballet Theatre by serving as Examiner in all levels of the National Training Curriculum. Additionally, she continues to be a partner teacher of Project Plie, an initiative began by American Ballet Theatre in 2014 to develop young dancers of diverse ethnic backgrounds.
